About the MCSHF Program

The Montgomery County Sports Hall of Fame began in 2018, but the groundwork for its existence began many years ago. School gymnasiums, YMCAs, community centers, youth sports leagues, high school and collegiate playing fields all cultivated the long and rich history of sports in Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County Sports Hall of Fame was created to honor the men and women that, through sports, have brought pride and honor to our county.  The individuals honored by the Montgomery County Sports Hall of Fame are reflections of the dedication and devotion of many people who love sports. For that, we will always be grateful, and through those efforts, we see lives that have been made better and lives that have added to our community.

Anyone may nominate a person for the Montgomery County Sports Hall of Fame.  Nomination candidates must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, character, and leadership.
